After his father is killed in a car accident, life starts to unravel for Kale Brecht. When he is placed under house-arrest for punching a teacher he nothing better to do than spying on his neighbors. One night he witnesses what appears to be a murder going on in a neighbor's house and becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth behind the murder. Starring Shia LaBeouf, Sarah Roemer, Carrie-Anne Moss.

Beneath - DVD
A young woman returns to her hometown years after a car accident that disfigured her older sister. Since she was driving the car, the accident has always haunted her. Skinwalkers - In Theater
Two packs of werewolves, divided by principles are joined by the coming of an ancient prophecy. A young man approaches his 13th birthday, unaware this marks the time of his transformation. He and his mother have been unaware that the rest of the family are good werewolves that have guarded him since birth. They know that he will control the destiny of the family. Vacancy -DVD
A young married couple becomes stranded at an isolated motel and find hidden video cameras in their room. After seeing a suspicious horror film on TV. they realize that unless they escape, they'll be the next victims of a motel-made snuff film. Starring Kate Beckinsale, Luke Wilson, Ethan Embry.

August 31st

Halloween (2007 remake) - In Theaters
Re-make by Rob Zombie. After being committed for 17 years, Michael Myers, now grown and still murderous, is mistakenly released from the mental institution. He immediately returns to Haddonfield to find his baby sister, Laurie. No one in his path can stop him. Starring Brad Dourif, Malcolm McDowell, Sheri Moon, Udo Kier.

In this two part film by Tarantino and Rodriguez, Tarantino's film, "Death Proof," is a old school slasher flick where the killer pursues his victims with a car rather than a knife. Trick r' Treat - In Theaters
There is a sneak preview trailer for this film on the DVD release of 300. It looks like it just might be a great Halloween film. No exact release date yet, just in October. Four interwoven stories that occur on Halloween night: An every-day high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer; a college virgin might have just met the one guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank; a woman who loathes this night has to contend with her Halloween-obsessed husband. Flight of the Living Dead: Outbreak on a Plane (DVD)
On a flight from Los Angeles to Paris, a scientist on the run from the CIA is transporting a coffin containing the body of a colleague infected with a genetically modified virus. During a violent storm, the corpse gets out of its container. The zombie starts to feed,  spreading the virus and infecting many of the passengers. It's a fight for life in the unfriendly skies. Night of the Living Dead 3D (DVD)
